The QTSD™ Academy Evaluation is a pre-enrollment assessment required of ALL athletes seeking to enroll into the QTSD™ Advanced Academy (30+ score required). Players will be tested on multiple aspects of development including technical ball skill, physical ability, coachability, and more!

After completion, athletes will receive a digital copy of their results, a benchmark score compared to their peers currently in the program, and a link to the QTSD™ Academy training group they have tested into.

One of the most difficult aspects of any group training is balancing the level of players enrolled. With players coming from different clubs & teams, determining the correct balance of skill level/ competitive nature/ mentality in addition to ensuring room for continued development AND enjoyment can be a challenge!

That is why we developed our QTSD™ Academy Evaluation! After testing the QTSD™ Evaluation standards for the past 4x training cycles on our more experienced athletes, the evaluation test is now required of ANY players interested in the QTSD™ Advanced Academy enrollment. The QTSD™ Academy will remain "Open Enrollment" format currently.

The QTSD™ Academy Evaluation is heavily based on measured data, compared against players currently in the training environment, and helps our coaches place players more accurately. While the QTSD™ Coaching Team reserves the right to adjust players if needed, we have found evaluation standards help groups stay competitive, develop players even further, AND most importantly, promote continued enjoyment of the game.

Simply put, the evaluation helps us place players in the best training environments; for both themselves AND the players around them.

Disclaimer - While a majority of evaluated players will be accepted into the QTSD™ Academy, athletes are NOT guaranteed a training space just for being evaluated.

While we'd love to have every soccer player train with the QTSD™ Academy, the higher level training environment is not for everyone. If your athlete is evaluated and the QTSD™ Academy is determined not a fit, we will work to provide alternative training options better suited to their current development level!

Welcome back! We have two scenarios for returning players:

INACTIVE PLAYERS - Any player that has trained with the QTSD™ Academy in a past MesoCycle is welcome to train with the QTSD™ Academy BUT is inactive (has not trained within 12 months) will be required to complete a "Re-Evaluation" to receive a new assessment score/ placement. Players and developmental cycles can change quickly each season. Some players improve while others can backslide. That is why we require any previous QTSD™ Academy Athlete that has been inactive for 2x training MesoCycles (12 months) to re-evaluate. Again, to help that player recognize their current development, what training groups may best fit their current development, and more.

ACTIVE PLAYERS - Players that have trained with the QTSD™ Academy within the past 2x MesoCycles (12 months) will be contacted directly with instructions.

Absolutely! We will offer multiple re-evaluation opportunities throughout the year; including:

• QTSD™ Coach recommended re-evaluations

• Player requested/ scheduled re-evaluations

• Off MesoCycle re-evaluations

With over a decade of coaching experience and 2,000+ athletes trained at all levels (pro, semi-pro, college, ECNL, etc.), we feel very confident in our ability to assess players against our QTSD™ Academy standards. This especially includes technical ability with the ball (which is compared against 500+ of their peers in the program for accuracy).

That said, we also recognize a player's tactical understanding, psychological development, coachability, and more can develop at different ranges & phases. Additionally, development is a process; with players improving, backsliding, peaking, and re-starting at different points in their journey.

It is a cliche phrase, but we'd recommend "trusting the process". A majority of our athletes start to progress quickly after their second completed training MesoCycle BUT we also hear many stories of success at their teams even after the first couple of training sessions!

With the basis of the QTSD™ Academy focused on quality of training groups/curriculum AND the importance of accurate player placement, we cannot guarantee a player to train with their teammates. While we understand (and encourage) friendships through soccer, we also recognize not all players are at the same point in their soccer journey.

That said, we do encourage players to invite their teammates to check QTSD™ out. Many of our current athletes have developed lasting friendships through their training groups AND have had teammates develop alongside them each week!
