The QTSD™ Academy FAQ (WINTER 24/25)
Players are required to wear the following:
The QTSD™ Academy Training Top
Black soccer shorts or soccer pants
Black soccer socks
Shin guards (mandatory)
Indoor soccer shoes/ futsal shoes (recommended) or running shoes
*Players are allowed to wear under armour underneath their apparel if temps are cool.
**Outdoor soccer cleats OR knubbed turf shoes ARE NOT ALLOWED
*** No club/ HS team logo'd apparel is allowed at QTSD™
In most cases, we have a structured rotation of QTSD™ Coaches for our QTSD™ Academy. Most training groups will have a lead QTSD™ Coach and a Support QTSD™ Coach assigned each week. Additionally, our lead QTSD™ Coaches will rotate most groups every 4 weeks; to give players a different perspective and coaching style; promoting better learning over all.
The Gahanna Sports Factory is set-up to be a very training centric location with very limited observation space. There is a small set-up of tables and chairs near the entrance to the training space in addition to bleachers.
Bleachers will be available unless they become a training/ safety hazard to our athletes and coaches.
Families and siblings ARE NOT allowed past the nets or on any nearby training zone not in use. This is strictly enforced.
With any soccer training program (QTSD™ or others), there will always be an initial assessment and learning of players. Our QTSD™ Coaches will be closely monitoring players during Weeks 1 & 2 to ensure they are contributing to their group, are coachable, and in the correct QTSD™ Academy Learning Environment.
If we determine a player is under OR over performing their peers, we will connect with families about options that may be available.
Each training group (QTSD™ Academy, QTSD™ Advanced Academy, etc.) has a mix of players that compete in various leagues, clubs, and teams. We base our assessments heavily on an individual's current skill development, coachability, tactical knowledge, and ability to learn; not the badge they wear on their club/HS jersey.
Illness and other conflict are a part of any training program. While we cannot solve every individual's potential time conflicts, we do have a process in place to help as many as possible.
If a player misses a training session due to personal conflict (sick, out of town, school event, etc.), they MUST notify QTSD™ (email scheduling@qtsdsoccer.com). We will then look for the following option:
OPTION #1 - FLEX - We will look for another training group of similar players/ birth year to allow a make-up session (if space is available)
Last year, we offered a "Make-Up" Day the week after training ended. We will be assessing rosters after Christmas to see if this option makes sense. Last year, 60x families registered for Make-Up Days BUT only about 10x actually attended; not taking advantage of valuable rental space, coach availability, and more.
We do NOT offer any credit for sessions missed due to a player time conflict.
QTSD™ holds to the Gahanna Sports Factory Policy of:
Training will only be cancelled if Franklin County reaches a Level 3 Snow Emergency.
If there is any change in training for any reason, we will post via the following locations/ channels:
The sliding banner at the top of the QTSD™ website
Via email to the registered email attached to an athlete's account.
Via social media (FaceBook/ Instagram)
If QTSD™ does cancel a session, we will either issue a "Future Training Credit" OR look to schedule a Make-Up Day.
Due to the tightly packed training schedule, our QTSD™ Coaches are usually only available to talk at the end of 8 pm (MON-THURS) or 11 am (SAT) sessions.
We will offer a Calendly appointment calendar for families to schedule 15 min times to connect with Director of Player Development Coach Joe during Jan & Feb.
We ask players to NOT bring any soccer balls. As a professional soccer training company, we provide the correct training equipment each session will need; including training soccer balls.
