INTERNATIONAL CAMP FAQ
The QTSD™ German Football Development Camp is designed for U-11 through U-16 players, with a focus on learning from professional German coaches, developing technical and tactical abilities, and applying those skills in evening match play.
The QTSD™ German Football Talent Identification Camp is designed for U-17 through U-23 players. Alongside professional coaching and match play, it provides an opportunity for players to demonstrate their abilities in front of experienced German coaches and scouts.
Both camps will be led by the visiting German coaching team (IPPG, ASG, DFI), with support from QTSD™ Coaches:
International Players Pathway Group (IPPG)Deutsches Fußball Internat (DFI)Athletic Sports Group (ASG)
Both camps are intended to help start building communication bridges between the Central Ohio soccer scene and our professional counterparts in Germany (and abroad). Both camps are largely intended to expose players to unique professional approaches to training, standards, learning models, and more. The German Football Development Camp is focused on player development rather than formal talent identification. Players will receive direct coaching from the German coaching team, with an emphasis on improving technical ability, tactical understanding, and decision-making through morning training and evening match play. While coaches may observe players throughout the experience, the primary goal is to help each player learn, improve, and apply their skills in game situations. The Talent Identification Camp is designed to provide opportunities for the German coaching staff to observe players' technical ability, tactical understanding, decision-making, and performance in game situations. Participation does not guarantee recruitment, a trial, or an overseas opportunity.

Cover technical control, tactical awareness, decision-making, small-sided activities, and applying skills in match play. For the older group, emphasize competitive performance and talent observation.Players will work on the technical, tactical, and decision-making skills that influence performance in competitive soccer. Morning sessions will focus on purposeful training led by the professional German coaching team, with an emphasis on technical precision, awareness, decision-making under pressure, and understanding how to apply these qualities in the game.
Evening match play gives players the opportunity to put their learning into practice, read game situations, adapt to opponents, and make decisions in a competitive environment. Rather than simply completing drills, players will be challenged to understand why and when to use their skills, helping them become more effective and confident players.
The goal is to connect training with actual match performance, giving players a meaningful opportunity to learn from experienced international coaches, recognize areas for improvement, and continue developing their game.
The camp is designed for committed players who want to improve their game, embrace challenging coaching, and compete in a focused development environment. Players should have an established foundation in soccer and a genuine desire to continue progressing, regardless of their current level or long-term playing goals. The experience is particularly well suited to players who are motivated to sharpen their technical abilities, improve their tactical understanding, make better decisions under pressure, and apply what they learn during match play. Players should arrive ready to work, accept coaching, and challenge themselves alongside other motivated athletes. While the camp is open to players across a range of competitive levels, the training environment is designed to provide meaningful challenges for players who are serious about their development. No formal tryout is required, but players should be prepared to train with purpose, embrace the competitive environment, and make the most of this opportunity to develop their game.
The German coaching team will be looking at a range of qualities that contribute to a player's overall performance and potential. This includes technical ability, first touch, passing, awareness, tactical understanding, decision-making under pressure, movement off the ball, and the ability to adapt to different game situations.
Coaches will also be observing how players respond to instruction, compete against others, communicate, and contribute to the team. The goal is to look beyond individual skills and understand how each player applies their abilities in a competitive environment.
Yes. Match play is an important part of the camp experience. Players will participate in evening matches that give the German coaching team and scouts an opportunity to observe them in live game situations.
While morning sessions focus on technical development, tactical understanding, and decision-making, evening match play allows players to put those qualities into practice. Coaches can observe how players read the game, respond to pressure, make decisions, and contribute when the outcome is not predetermined by a drill.
This combination of training and match play provides a more complete picture of a player's abilities than technical exercises alone.
The camp is designed to provide players with direct exposure to professional German coaching and a competitive environment in which to demonstrate their abilities. Players will receive coaching and instruction throughout the experience.
The primary purpose, however, is talent identification and observation rather than a guaranteed individual evaluation or written player report. The availability and level of individual feedback may vary based on the coaching team's observations and the structure of the camp.
Players should arrive ready to learn, compete, respond to coaching, and make the most of the opportunity to demonstrate their strengths.
If a member of the German coaching or scouting team identifies a player they would like to learn more about, QTSD™ and its partners may help facilitate appropriate follow-up conversations or introductions.
Any next steps would depend on the player's profile, the coaching staff's assessment, and the specific needs or opportunities identified. Being observed at the camp does not guarantee a trial, recruitment offer, overseas placement, or contract. Any potential opportunity would need to be discussed and confirmed separately.
The camp provides an opportunity to train, compete, and be observed by an international coaching team. Any further pathway must be earned and will depend on individual circumstances.
Yes. The camp is designed for U-17 through U-23 players, including high school juniors and seniors, graduating players, and current college-age athletes who want to challenge themselves in a competitive environment.
Players do not need to follow a particular club pathway to participate. What matters is that they have a soccer foundation, are prepared to compete, and are ready to demonstrate their technical ability, tactical understanding, decision-making, and overall approach to the game.
The camp welcomes players with different playing backgrounds who are serious about their development and interested in gaining experience with professional German coaches and scouts. Players should understand that participation offers an opportunity to be observed, not a guarantee of recruitment or a future playing opportunity.
