Believe It or Not, Your High School Player Has Options!

Updated: Jul 28

Every Fall (and all Summer in reality), many high school age soccer players begin the “right of passage” - the pathway to high school soccer.  Summer’s full of open fields, conditioning, and training sessions all with the hope of making a team at their respective high school.  And for many years, high school soccer has been a traditional chapter in soccer journeys.  But what about the players that find the high school soccer environment does not fit their goals, may not have enough players, or will negatively affect their love of the game/ self confidence?

WHAT IS THE QTSD™ "HIGH SCHOOL ALTERNATIVE" TRAINING PROGRAM?

ree

Those players are exactly the reason why we created the QTSD™ “High School Alternative” Training Program.  In 2022, we created the program in less than 72 hours to help a small group of high school (and trapped 8th grade) players considering quitting soccer altogether due to a negative experience at their school programs.  Many of these players were talented athletes, but for various reasons, they were considering ending their soccer career entirely.  We saw the potential in those players and decided to create training program specifically to help accomplish the following three goals:

  • Reinforce/ rebuild those players’ love for the game they grew up with

  • Help them prepare technically and tactically for their upcoming club seasons

  • Give access to a soccer environment that was challenging; regardless of their goals; club, college, semi-pro, etc.

What started with 10x players in 2022 grew to 28x athletes this past Fall.  Numbers aren’t important, but recognizing the amount of players struggling with similar stressful decisions is. To be clear, we recognize/ respect that many players will choose to play high school soccer and we support their decisions to do so. That said, this training program is specifically designed for players the traditional high school soccer "experience" does not fit!

HOW DOES THE QTSD™ "HIGH SCHOOL ALTERNATIVE" TRAINING PROGRAM BENEFIT PLAYERS?

ree

For 8 weeks, players have the opportunity to train 1-2x per week in a “team oriented” format.  That means training that will help players develop the following:

  • Learning and re-enforcing technical ball control (ie. dribbling, passing & receiving, finishing, etc.)

  • Learning multiple tactical approaches to the game; helping develop better well rounded and mentally flexible players

  • Further development for stronger sport mentality & fitness/ physical conditioning

  • Train in a club-neutral environment focused on developing the whole player; both for soccer and off the soccer field

  • Train in a professionally coached environment that challenges players AND helps re-build confidence for future soccer journeys

  • Additional resources regarding sports psychology, navigating college recruitment, sports nutrition, and more!
